Frequently asked questions
How much faster is it to scan digital tickets?
Scanning a digital ticket takes an average of 2 seconds. Compare that to the time it takes to verify a physical ticket, scan it, tear it, and hand back the stub.
In a crowd of dozens—or hundreds—those extra seconds pile up and keep people waiting. Scanning guests in with Turnstile is the best way to get everyone in the door before your school event starts.
Can guests for my events still buy tickets at the door?
Sure, as long as they have a mobile device! Just send them the link to your ticket campaign on FutureFund and they can purchase their ticket in just a few moments.
Is it hard to set up Turnstile for ticketing?
Turnstile is designed to be easy! Once you’ve created your ticket campaign in FutureFund’s admin, just have your volunteers download Turnstile from the app store, select the “Scan” tab at the bottom of the screen, and start scanning physical tickets or QR codes for attendees at the event.
Each ticket and code is linked to your campaign, so scanning automatically updates your record in the admin. Each volunteer can also track the tickets they’ve scanned individually by selecting the “History” tab at the bottom of the app.

How can I make tiered tickets for my events?
In the FutureFund admin, navigate to the Campaigns screen and click the View button next to your ticket campaign.
Navigate to the Design tab and click Ticket Sections. From here, you can add different types of tickets (General, VIP, etc.) for your event, and create tiered pricing for each one.

Are there any fees for using Turnstile?
Just like our fundraising platform, FutureFund’s Turnstile app is completely free for schools to download and use. We just charge a small fee for tickets sold as a way to cover our platform costs. Ticket sales are charged a fee of $1 for each ticket up to $10. An additional $0.25 is charged for each $5 increment thereafter. For example:
- Tickets $1.00 – $10.00: Fee $1.00
- Tickets $10.01 – $15.00: Fee $1.25
- Tickets $15.01 – $20.00: Fee $1.50
- etc…
There are no fees for free tickets.
Can I manually redeem tickets?
Yes! To manually redeem a ticket, go to the Admin and follow these steps:
- Navigate to Store > Campaigns
- Select your Campaign
- Select the Ticketing tab
- Search for the ticket and click the Redeem button
